What do Gallery Director’s do – they serve you as your conduit to the upper ranks of dA, take care of mis-cats, write the AR newsletter, pick Daily Deviations, and communicate news about stock art ..

Galley Directors are usually artist themselves – just like you and are volunteers on deviantART.

Currently GD’s serve one year before they are retired and deviantART gives them a CAR .. And 10,000 dollars for service well done ( Okay .. I JUST MADE THAT UP )

Hello Everyone

I have been quietly working behind the scene sorting out misplacements and scrapping lower quality stock from the gallery. The number of reports from the community have dropped off significantly for whatever reason. If you would like to help out, please report misplaced and stock that does not meet the minimum size requirements (600x600). Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Organizing the Gallery
We are currently working on adding categories to the gallery. We will also be adding descriptions for the entire gallery. Hopefully this will help elevate the number of misplacements that we see daily.

The category most misunderstood is full body. A full body model is just what it sounds like. A photograph that contains the model's full body from head to toe. If any part of the model's body is missing from the photograph, place it in the portrait category.

Unrestricted Stock
This week two individuals approached me on the topic of unrestricted stock.

Unrestricted stock can be used for both personal and commercial projects. You are not required to obtain permission prior to using the stock off site. The only requirements are that the stock provider be notified and in most cases credited.

One of the individual was interested in creating a directory of fellow stockers that provide unrestricted stock. The other person was interested in using unrestricted stock and was finding it difficult to find. Sounded like an opportunity for me. If you or someone you know offers stock without restrictions, please send me a note. I plan to post a News Article featuring these accounts to help promote them. A directory of the few accounts I am aware of is displayed in my side journal and shown below.



Other Uses for Stock
An interesting topic was brought in the forums recently. On deviantART we typically think of stock being used in digital works or as reference, but there are many more uses for stock. Such as:

• Websites, journals and banners
• Literary tags and images
• Advertising, publishing
• Games, packaging, electronic media, etc.




Above are a few examples of the type of stock that may be used in this manner. Of course stock usage must always be in compliance with the rules as defined by the individual stock artists.
